Student Device In-School Checkout Agreement

Starting Monday, September 21, 2026 Students will be assigned a Chromebook that they will pick up at the beginning of the school day and carry in their backpack to use during all their classes.  At the end of the day they will return their Chromebook to the same class they picked it up in and plug it in to be charged for the next day.  Each Student will be assigned one Chromebook and will use the same Chromebook each day. Chromebooks WILL NOT go home with Students, they must stay on school property at all times.  For more information, please reach out to the Illahee Office at 253-945-4600.

Student Device Usage and Terms of Responsibility:

REMINDER: Families, this is a reminder of your scholar’s and family’s responsibility acknowledged during the online registration process, stating the expectations of the Student Rights and Responsibilities for online behavior and financial responsibility for lost or intentionally damaged equipment used by the scholar.

1. I understand that the student device is for in-school use only and must not leave the school building.

2. I will use the student device for educational purposes only and follow all school rules as outlined and agreed to in the Student Rights and Responsibility Handbook.

3. I will handle the student device with care and not damage, modify, or deface it in any way.

4. I will not share my student device with others.

5. I will immediately report any damage or issues to my advisory or classroom teacher where the device cart is housed

6. I understand that internet usage is monitored and should remain appropriate at all times.

7. I will return the student device at the end of school day, to the same station that I picked it up from in the morning.

8. I will ensure I have plugged it in for overnight charging as required.

9. I agree that if the student device is intentionally damaged, lost, or stolen due to negligence or misuse, I will be held financially responsible. (See replacement cost below. Cost is subject to change)

·         Chromebooks replacement cost = $550

·         USB-C style charger replacement cost = $60

10. I understand that violation of these terms may result in disciplinary action and/or loss of privileges.  (Board Policy and Procedure 2022)
