Congratulations to Decatur High School scholars Joshua Carter and Zaire Jarmon for earning the National College Resources Foundation (NCRF) Scholarship Award at the 6th Annual Seattle Black College Expo event.
At the event, scholars had the opportunity to meet with college representatives from historically Black colleges and universities, and other institutions. Josh and Zaire received the scholarships during the event and were selected based on their essay application on the topic of “Why is a College Education Important?”
Woodmont K-8 recently celebrated an exciting achievement. In October, 121 scholars had perfect attendance! These scholars were in class, on time, every day, ready to learn.
Each Friday, the class with the highest attendance for the week gets their class name recognized in their Monday morning announcements and gets their name on the school bulletin board.
Additionally, one scholar from each grade level with perfect attendance for the week gets a shout out during morning announcements, a picture taken to be shared on their Facebook page and on their school bulletin board and receives a PAW to be entered into the daily PAW drawing to win prizes.
